Alyssa Parr, Ph.D.

Alyssa is a doctoral student in the Applied Developmental Psychology program. She came to the University of Pittsburgh after completing her M.Ed. in Educational Psychology at the University of Virginia. Alyssa is particularly interested in student motivation in school and the supports that can be put in place in schools to encourage and promote students’ engagement. She also is interested in how diversity and culture shape students' motivation as well as their learning experiences and school environment. This interest stems from her passion for learning about other cultures, speaking Spanish, and traveling abroad.
