I study how social context relates to adolescent socio-emotional development and academic outcomes. My current work specifically addresses how student-teacher and student-student/peer relationships interact to support adolescent motivation and engagement, including engagement in online learning during the present Covid-19 pandemic. I started my career as a high school teacher in California, and completed my PhD as part of the University of Michigan’s Combined Program in Education and Psychology. I recently joined Dr. Ming-Te Wang’s Lab as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh’s Learning Research and Development Center.
