Sarah Voltin

  • Research Field Specialist

Sarah is a Master's student in the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health and School of Social Work. Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Women and Gender Studies from the University of South Carolina, and her honors thesis was a historical and comparative analysis of maternal healthcare and the medicalization of childbirth within the US. Once she graduated from USC, she spent two years as a medical scribe in an urgent care health center. After gaining experience in a clinical atmosphere she desired to return to research and academia, so she left SC and joined the lab as a research assistant! Sarah has a cat named Peekaboo (but her friends call her Peeka), an obsession with the show New Girl, and a desire to learn how to navigate the many bridges and tunnels of Pittsburgh!
