Jackie is a doctoral student in Chatham University's Counseling Psychology program and received her Master's in Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. Jackie's current research interests include the roles that sense of belonging and engagement may play in addressing the social and academic problems experienced by youth, how context based sense of belonging can translate into mental well-being and resilience for youth in other contexts, strength-based interventions, and the role that adults may have in motivating and engaging youth. Her interests stem from her work with children and adolescents in wrap around services and her research with youth substance users and their perceptions of their social, academic, and treatment based experiences. Jackie is a Pittsburgh native and enjoys biking and hiking her way through the city's trails.
